Father and son soon identified the need to integrate franchising into the Prestige business plan. For a start they identified the country’s premier manufacturer of worsted and cotton branded suitings, shirtings and ready-to-wear, Raymond. For a national brand such as this, too, it was strategic to align with an established retailer who could leverage its local presence.The Raymond standalone store opened across from the original Prestige store on Commercial Street in 1982. The relationship has since flourished, extending the fabric choices for Prestige customers while introducing the Raymond customer to the refinements of Prestige custom tailoring.
